A Detroit native, residing in Phoenix, Curtis Matthew’s intimate, yet life-long passion for music has ingrained him as one of Arizona’s top rising artists and crowd pleasers. From the deep progressive beats and polished electro house, one can hear his obsession for music pour out over the speakers, making your body groove. Opening for some of dance music’s known artists like Christopher Lawrence, Adam Freeland, Ferry Corsten and DJ Dan has set Curtis Matthew into the ring of professionals, allowing him to take his craft to the next level.
Starting back in 2002, armed with two Technic 1200’s, a DJM 600 and a crate full of vinyl, Curtis Matthew started to lay the foundation for the music he plays today. As a self-taught musician, he would study live mixes from different artists/DJ’s and try to emulate what he had heard, only to realize that after hours of practice the music in his head came out in his hands. Taking the discipline he learned from DJing he has applied it to his production skills. Continuing to listen and learn from his favorite DJ/producers, Curtis Matthew is pushing to create the future sounds of progressive house music
Securing a spot at the hottest clubs has allowed him to showcase his talents in the Phoenix dance scene, making him a resident and an in- demand DJ. Today, Curtis Matthew continues to experiment, create and work with established artists.
